Mission Statement
Welcome to the McKean County Credit Union Partnership Website!
The McKean County Credit Union Partnership is a collaboration of six Federal Credit Unions located in Bradford, Smethport, and Port Allegany (McKean County, Pennsylvania). The partnership was formed to advance our commitment to the "People Helping People" philosophy we stand for, as well as to educate our members on financial matters and increase community awareness of financial options available to them.
In 1935, when credit unions were helping Americans through the Great Depression, the treasurer of a Midwestern credit union said that credit unions were "not for profit, not for charity, but for service," and that philosophy holds true today. Members of our partnership recognize that their primary responsibility is not to generate a profit for their Credit Unions, but rather to do whatever is possible to help make the members successful. Our collective mission is to offer prompt and personal services to our membership. To promote savings, provide affordable lending, safeguard member's assets, and to better serve the members of our Credit Unions: these are the values that guide the work and service of our Credit Unions and our Partnership.
